The group is formed by 5 Colombian girls from Medellin; They are in 9th grade at Montessori School. Their ages are between 15 and 16 years. The group noted that in the streets of our city and our country the accidents reported each year for the consumption of alcohol while driving increased during the last years. Even though the country has already several programs the result does not change, and people are not conscious about the real situation. The group decide to speed up the process by making this project.

The name of the project is THE NEED FOR SPEED WITH ALCOHOL. The project consists in making people realize the consequences of their acts, mostly when they are under the influence of alcohol. They don’t want more pain, family loss and more innocent people suffering the consequences of not even for their own acts.

They choose this topic because they think every year not only in our country but in the entire world there are thousands of accidents that involve alcohol, young people and speed. This concerns them a lot, because many lives are involved. The group wants to find a solution, create conscience and make a real change that can save lives from upcoming generations through the entire world. In this types of accidents generally innocent people are involved, and suffer most of the consequences, this people could be a mother, a brother, a friend, and even you.

Unfortunately they have experienced an accident, which involved alcohol and a high speed. They talk seriously when they say that then of the accident and then of the taken decisions nothing can be done. And not only the victim suffer, but their family, friends and people that surround him or her.

Their friends were 5 boys between 17 and 18 years. They just came out of a party that was located outside the city, were the 5 of them have drunk alcohol. When they were coming back in their car, under the influence of alcohol a truck crashed with them. The car was left under the truck and 2 of the guys died. It left thems a sad experience, but they understood that alcohol and driving never mix well. Unfortunately they went through loss and suffering and that is why they want the other teenagers to understand the consequences before they suffer them.
